KM 330

We will touch: San Galgano, Colle Val D'Elsa, San Gimignano, Volterra, Massa Marittima.

A tour in Tuscany must certainly include a visit to some of the famous medieval Tuscan cities.
We chose to visit San Gimignano and leave Siena as an alternative for guests on the way to Amiata or on the way back.
Today's tour still includes a first stop at Castel del Piano from which you reach Paganico, the gateway to Amiata.
From here we reach Roccastrada along the wonderful roads of the upper Maremma and then Monticiano, after which we absolutely recommend a visit to the abbey of San Galgano with the famous sword in the stone.
Next stop Colle Val D'Elsa the city of Arnolfo di Cambio the great medieval architect.
After lunch, a few kilometers and we reach San Gimignano. The city of towers where a short visit is absolutely a must.
Next step Volterra. If we have time, it is a good idea to have a coffee in the main square.
We are halfway and now we go back through the geothermal energy production area of Larderello and Pomarance. The large smoking chimneys, known throughout the world, create a surreal landscape. For motorcyclists beautiful roads.
Now off towards Massa Marittima, the beautiful medieval town. Another stop at the charming square.
The last jump takes us back to Paganico and then Le Macinaie with the last 10 km on a road full of hairpin bends with views of the Val D'Orcia.

This is a winding and extremely fun road to the village of Roccalbegna, the village of the leaning stone. An ancient Sienese village from the 1400s, it is held up as a model for the beauty of its architecture. The visit to the top of the stone and the Cassero Senese is absolutely interesting.
One last push and we are at Macinaie, where a great dinner will crown our beautiful day.
Tonight we will taste again the great wines of Morellino di Scansano.
