When they say that the grass is always greener on the other side, the Umbria motorcycle tour is the perfect opportunity to go and discover this region, a nearby but different land, made of rolling hills, art City and wide-ranging landscapes.
Lake Trasimeno and Assisi
We set off, crossing the Tuscan territory, towards Chianciano Terme, to reach Lake Trasimeno. The first recommended stop is in Passignano sul Trasimeno, one of the most beautiful villages overlooking the lake, ideal for a relaxing break or a drink with a view. From here, the panorama is expansive and bright, with glimpses that make this first part of the tour particularly evocative.
We then continue towards Assisi, which appears majestic on the top of the hill, with its unmistakable profile and unique atmosphere that for centuries has attracted travellers from all over the world.
The city of San Francesco deserves a thorough visit: the Basilica of San FrancescoThe Basilica of Santa Chiara and a stroll through the streets of the historic center are the heart of this day. Assisi is also the ideal place to stop for lunch at one of the town's restaurants, enjoying the slower pace and beauty of one of Italy's most beloved cities.
From Umbria to Tuscany: Città della Pieve and San Casciano dei Bagni
The return journey then crosses the Umbrian Valley and touches Città della PieveFrom here you return to Tuscany along a road full of curves and views to reach from San Casciano dei Bagni.
Before reaching the village, we recommend a stop at Mouth, along one of the most fascinating stretches of the entire itinerary: a scenic road, between curves and rows of cypress trees, which over time has also become the set of numerous Italian and international film productions. It is the ideal place for a photo, thanks to a extraordinary panoramic view over the Val d'Orcia, with Radicofani and Mount Amiata in the background.
For those who wish, San Casciano dei Bagni can also be an opportunity for a rejuvenating break at the spa. The route follows a ridge separating two valleys, offering splendid views of Radicofani and Mount Amiata, before returning to Piancastagnaio and the hotel.
After an intense and exciting day, upon returning to the hotel, a well-deserved moment of relaxation awaits you before dinner.
