Il Monte Amiata Le Macinaie Restaurant It was founded over 50 years ago, immersed in the beech forest, and has always been a point of reference for those seeking traditional cuisine and mountain hospitality.
After more than 40 years of management, the first generation left the business to their children, who have continued the family business with continuity and dedication since 1999.
For many years Claudia led the kitchen, now entrusted to Giorgio.
Enrico takes care of the dining room, while Franz welcomes guests at reception.

In 2022 Le Macinaie celebrated the 50 years of business.
An important milestone, achieved by maintaining the same spirit over time: working consistently, improving day after day, and welcoming each guest with simplicity.
🍽️ Tradition and cuisine on Mount Amiata
Over time, the Monte Amiata restaurant's offerings have evolved, adapting to the tastes and habits of its guests.
Many still remember the meals of the '70s and '80s, when the classic fixed menu was offered with several first courses, mixed roast meats and wine by the carafe.
Today, the cuisine has changed, with more refined dishes and a greater attention to quality, while maintaining a strong connection to tradition.
🍷 Growth and recognition
Over time, the Monte Amiata Le Macinaie restaurant has expanded its offerings, including a more careful selection of wines and increasingly refined cuisine.
Among the most significant moments:
- il 2nd place at the Oscar for Italian Cuisine in 1987, with cacio e pepe tortelli prepared by uncle Romano
- the numerous participations in Amiata at the Table, gastronomic event of the 80s
