FOREST BATHING ON MOUNT AMIATA
In the woods surrounding the Albergo Le Macinaie we can do Forest Bathing
Forest Bathing is a walk in the magic of the Woods, intended as a BATH IN NATURE, which invites you to connect with yourself, rediscovering your deepest being. Walking in these precious places can give you precious benefits: serenity, peace of mind, a wider breath, reduction of stress levels, gradual abandonment of negative thoughts.
The best way to fully enjoy the benefits that forest bathing can offer is a “standard protocol” of three days for a total of 10-12 hours of contact with the forest.
An environmental guide and facilitator can accompany you throughout the experience.
Why forest bathing or why a weekend in the woods
It has been proven that spending at least 3 days in close contact with nature leads to physical and mental regeneration.
In fact, trees emit a particular substance of well-being, monoterpemes, which have the ability to lower stress and cortisol levels and increase the functioning of the immune system, with an effect that lasts for at least 3 weeks.
The plants that produce the most are, in order: holm oak, cork oak and beech.
Monte Amiata is the first place to have certified areas in Italy and there are 5 of them!
The Macchia Faggeta Society and the Amiata Forestry Consortium are the managers of the protected areas where we will have our experiences.
The forest consortium has also activated the SER.VE project with which it has obtained the following certifications:
- PEFC 2003 Sustainable Forest Management Certification
- Certification of Ecosystem Services for Tourism and Recreational Functions PEFC 2022
- International Certification of Suitability for Forest Wellbeing PEFC 2022 with the creation of areas dedicated to forest health and therapy practices
