Motorcycle tour on Monte Amiata and Val d’Orcia

We will touch: Santa Fiora, Castel del Piano, Sant’Antimo, Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano, Radicofani, Abbadia San Salvatore.
From Le Macinaie Hotel, it starts towards Piancastagnaio, through the wonderful Faggeta, which surrounds the Monte Amiata. There you can visit the Aldobrandesco castle.
Then we have Santa Fiora, the Monte Amiata gem, and the other villages Arcidosso and Castel del Piano. Winding roads with fantastic view on the mountain and the valley. Crossed the characteristic village of Seggiano, through a fascinating road, we reach Castel Nuovo dell’Abate with the beautiful Sant’Antimo Abey. In a few kilometers we arrived at Montalcino, which will welcome you. We suggest a visit to the castel that has a stunning view, and the village streets. Then we going down to the Val d’Orcia along the ancient Cassia road. In close succession the jewels of the italian Reinassance art: San Quirico D’Orcia, Pienza e Montepulciano. The next step is the thermal village of Chianciano, famous for his healing waters.
The best is yet to come: a fantastic tour till Radicofani, the city of Ghino di Tacco. A magic landscape of alpin flavours.

From Radicofani we go to Abbadia San Salvatore through a fascinating road. Now it’s the time of the Amiata east side, with hissmall villages of Castiglione d’Orcia, with the ancient tower, Vivo d’Orcia, with fresh water’s spings and waterfalls, and at the end Pescina, one of the highest villages of Amiata. Still got 10 km going through one of the most ancient road that leads us to Vetta Amiata and the volcano. What is of extraordinary effect are the shades of colors that change while we go up.
the evening, during the dinner, we suggest a Montalcino and Montepulciano wine-tasting. For bikers it is possible to enjoy a night motorcycle route through Amiata’s villages, 40km, with stops in some interesting local pub.
